Security requirements

Service account

To run Dime.Scheduler, a minimum of 1 domain (service) account is recommended. This accounts needs permissions to:

  • Host IIS application pools
  • Run Windows Services
  • Manage Windows Services (start, stop, check status)
  • Log in to the SQL database(s)
  • Create EventLog sources
  • Access the back office application such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV, CRM and Business Central.

Throughout the entire installation manual, we will refer to this account as the 'service account'. We recommend to grant this account local administrator rights on the server(s) that will be hosting the website(s) and services. If this is not possible, some additional deployment steps will be needed.

Administrative permissions

Please note that the user that does the installation must have sufficient permissions to manipulate (i.e. create or update) the databases, web servers (i.e. add or update web application pools and sites) and establish a connection with the back office systems.
