Client requirements

Hardware

Planners usually have multiple monitors of an acceptable size in the office and at home. Since Dime.Scheduler is catered towards those people, there are a few hardware requirements to take into consideration in order to optimally run the software.

Mobile

The mobile app supports both iOS and Android devices.

Mobile devices and tablets are not supported for the web app, simply because there is not enough room to accommodate all the components and data, with the odd exception of the agenda views, which can be displayed on smaller screens. That leaves us with laptops and desktops that have sufficient computing power and a decently-sized monitor to run the web app.

Screen size

In the corporate world, 13 to 15 inch laptops are fairly common. Such monitor sizes are sufficient to render Dime.Scheduler on the screen. The system has been extensively tested on 13, 15 and 17 inch laptops.

As for external monitors, there is a wide array of screen sizes available on the market. According to various statistical research studies, it will be very hard to find a monitor with a smaller resolution than 1366x768 pixels.

The rule of thumb is that the larger the monitor, the better for Dime.Scheduler. At the other end of the spectrum, 1024x768 pixels would be the absolute minimum.

Computing power

A standard corporate laptops are usually powerful enough to run business applications, but sometimes they might struggle as users typically run multiple applications and have multiple browser tabs open for a good part of the day. Dime.Scheduler is a resource-intensive application that demands computing power from the browser. Therefore, it is recommend to have a computer with at least 4 GB of RAM, preferrably more.

The Dime.Scheduler client applications are web-based. The applications are compatible with and have been tested on the following browsers:

  • All Chromium-based browsers, including but not limited to:
